They show two gaskets. one for $2.00 and the MBZ for $6.25.

I would go with the gasket and forget the RTV. How about cleaning the old gasket with something to deoil it, and use some permatex gasket sealant?

Or use the old gasket for a template and make a new one out of some gasket material?

I would be afraid of the RTV squeezing out and getting into the oil system.
