What about using helmets when on a motorcycle?

I can never understand the logic of people who are at ease riding on a motorcycle "sans" helmet!

Perhaps there some motorcycle owners here that do that can enlighten me.

I like motorcycles myself, but when you consider that a motorcycle consists of wrapping flesh around metal as opposed to a car, which is metal wrapped around flesh, a rider should at least give himself a fighting chance!

What? You say you are an experienced rider? So I guess you shouldn't worry about getting broadsided by an inattentive driver in a SUV?

One of the things a guy I talked to said about motorcycle safety was that most people aren't trained to recognize motorcycles in the same manner as other motorized 4-wheel vehicles...so riders tend to get cut off frequently, pulled out in front of often, and even with the headlights on a simply mistaken for a bicycle! And since your head is already one of the heaviest components on your body, suffice to say if you flip off your motorcycle, physics dictates that you'll probably land on your head!

Sorry for overtaking your thread Kuan!
