So its 753 miles from Barrington RI and Shertex will be passing the torch to me.
Well, in his listing he said that you could go nearly 800 miles on a tank of fuel.
I can't imagine a better time to test this theory.
MPG factors.
Its Fall, no AC needed.
Its mostly highway
it will be just me and the D for 11 hours
Found this quote on mpg
"You don't have to go easy to get 30. I drive 80-90 on the highway two hours a day, then drive in the city for about another hour or so. Driving like a madman, I get 29mpg. Driving a tad easier, I get 31mpg. If I drove the 700+ miles all highway, even at 85mph, I'm convinced I'd still get 33-34mpg."
with a 23 gallon tank, I need to achieve nearly 33mpg average to make it all the way home. Because I drive like an old man and the car is in good shape (forum member cared for) I believe I'll have plenty of room for error. The tanks slightly larger than 23 gallons and I'll be driving south, which means it will be down hill the whole way.
