Anecdotal story on CV joints:

I also own a 2004 Honda CR-V. Right now my son is driving that up at Clemson while his wagon is undergoing major rehab at vstech's.

Before I let him take it up there in August, I knew it needed new CV joints.

I looked at reman axles and was about to buy a set and have vstech help me swap them. However he and I both got real busy so I ended up taking it to the local Honda dealer.

The advisor, knowing that it was an older car, offered remans to save some money. I went for it and told them to go ahead and use them.

Long story short, after 3 sets of reman axles, we ended up going with OE. The vibration was so bad on each set of remans that they never even released the car to me between sets.
