Actually, the citizens do. You see, when our trading partner has a problem, we have a problem. When we have a problem, we want the govt to provide a solution. When Boeing wants to leave town, we ask the govt to make them stay. When our jobs go, we want the govt to create new ones. So yes, we do ask them to take responsibility for our lives. Don't give me the oil thing. Mankind has had wars long before oil and will be fighting even when the last drop of oil has been burned. Before the first drop of oil came up, man has been fighting. Back in the cave days, man has been fighting. Even when oil becomes irrelevant, man will find an item to fight over. It is the nature.
Why not $50? Why not $100? Where did you get that number? Out of your head?
Really? So what if we had solar cars? Free fuel so wouldn't that also, by your theory encourage sprawl? I suppose the best way would be to lock us all up in sardine cans and be efficient?
