Well, when my (now ex-, thankfully) wife arrived here from Peru in 1994, English was DEFINATELY her second language, as hardly anyone speaks it in Arequipa, Peru's second largest city, located in the southern desert of Peru..

Shortly after she was here - in my place in San Francisco, one night she cooked me some exotic native Peruvian dish that I didn't care for at all.
"ewww, YUCK" !!!!, I exclaimed!
"Yuck
YOU, N***** !!" she screamed !
I was stupefied. How did she get that, so quick, and knowing so little English back then!!!??"
But it was, I admit, awfully funny and clever of her to go and blindside me like that so fast.
