Hey all, a quick update.

So the reason my mechanic wants to do a complete rebuild is because the pistons are scorched, "there is major scaring on the cylinders" in his exact words. Which I have seen in person. So basically the cylinders need to be rebored and new pistons need to be put in, which as far as I understand it (based on a conversation with @bwhitmore) calls for a complete rebuild of the engine. He is now quoting around $4000 to have this done to the current engine.

Any thoughts on this new information? Thanks!
