There are a number of social issues; cannabis use and same sex marriage for example, about which the millennial generation simply doesn't give a shlt. They are non-issues. I think the hair-on-fire vocalizing against these kinds of issues is the last gasp of a generation that opposes them. They see the imminent and unavoidable changes coming about, know they are powerless to change the course and aren't the least bit happy about it.

The last time they were this vocal about pot was 80 years ago, but the situation was completely different. Their hysteria was effective in getting cannabis banned because the vast majority of Americans were clueless about it. It was easy to portray it (and cocaine) as the fuel driving crazy-eyed darkies who were out to prey on white women.

Now, with half or more of the adult American population admitting to having tried la mota at least once and the medical benefits of it being researched and revealed on an almost daily basis, these people can rant all they want. They're plsslng in the wind.
