The stock benz suspension will handle a lot of load without any modification if its all in good shape. As a temp measure removing the back seat and installing plywood should work fine. Subbing air shocks will actually degrade its performance imho. Just make sure your springs and shocks are in good shape and enjoy. Sometimes you can even find good used bisteins from people parting out their cars for excellent prices.
