Whether it has a pump or not doesn't matter. If the bowl is gotten separately then it also needs the special thru-bolt that goes with it. If you look at my pic the longer bolt has been cut from a length of studding. Not ideal but it works.

Is your CAV new, or NOS? That glass bowl is late 70's vintage and I didn't know they are still being made. I see new ones on Ebay that looks similar with the glass bowl but they don't look like the one I have, which has a piston type priming pump. With the diaphragm priming pumps, replacement diaphragms are not available and they are not built to be replaced easily (crimped metal housing). The piston primer pump has an o-ring which is quick and easy to replace
