AGMs are also a good idea for the older models with the battery under the hood. AGMs do not spew electrolyte vapors like standard batteries. This is why most older cars have their battery trays eaten by rust.
The original MB battery in my '97 was flooded cell and located under the rear seat. The vent tube was routed through the floor.
