Regarding different shades of blue..... I'd take a knife and shave 1" square piece of surface from dash crack to be covered - then mail the sample to whomever I was buying the dash cap from.

Ask them to match this color with available shades of blue.

No two runs of manufactured MB-tex interiors are going to be exactly alike, so the colors may vary slightly - depending on color tint, sunlight exposure, etc.
