For Sale: Restored 1978-1980 W116 300SD Air Cleaner Lid
This is a refurbished air cleaner lid (part number 010 094 19 02) that will only fit the 1978-1980 W116 chassis 300SD. This will not fit the 1980 model year 300SD with California emissions, oil separator, and an EGR valve (they need an extra hole in the lid). It has just been stripped to bare metal and powdercoated in durable semigloss black paint. The metal underneath is pitted in a few places, but it's not very noticeable. I ordered a new lip gasket, part number 001 094 52 80. The new ones are felt, not rubber.
It's not perfect, but it's like new and will make your engine compartment look so much better if you've got a rusty lid (like most of them). The powdercoat will be tougher to chip than the original paint, and especially more so than a rattle-can job.
