The three numbers Frank just listd are stamped into the back surface of the cam. Like somebody mentioned earlier, you need a small dental mirror to see it. If you are replacing a single cam, get the same number. The intake and exhaust cams come in sets, where one's odd and the other's even.

If you're doing both cams, you can get just about anything as long as the numbers on the cams are from the same set (24 goes with 23, 57 goes with 56 and 71 goes with 70).

But since you have a euro 280sl, the right cam will be aggressive in a good way.

PS. Frank are those three numbers all euro spec valve timing?
