I wasn't to knowledgeable in the w123 field, on my euro I thought I was going to need a new clutch as I felt a slipping in one of the gears and a grinding occasionally....just as I got it back a few months ago, I was under the rear checking things out and noticed a bushing gone and another on its way.....so moral of my story, you can be missing the bushings and the transmission will still shift......just may have a few issues...
