This debate is so ridiculous. The guy has NOT been paying fees for TWENTY years, and clearly is trying to make it a states rights issue now that its time to pay the piper and the inevitable bureacracy has caught up with him

Also, all this crap about things just coming out or actions illegally taken by the fed is preposterous. The guy probably has at a minimum, a hundred mailed notices saying he was delinquent, that such and such would happen, that he has such and such amount of time to appeal, ect. These things dont just suddenly happen, the current situation is the end result of twenty years of evading and ignoring notice after notice.

Heres a comparison thats similar-
My sister is a public defender in NY. Shes been telling me about a case where a guy who is an immigrant got two moving violations 9 years ago in his cab. He didnt pay the tickets, ignored every single notice sent, and 200 bucks in tickets became 15 violations. Years went by, and ultimately a warrant was issued for his arrest. Heres where it gets sticky for him. He hasnt been keeping up with immigration paperwork either, so now the house of cards is falling apart and he actually faces deportation over an initial illegal turn incident.

The lesson, do not ignore offical notices. This rancher obviously figured he could fly under the radar forever, but its caught up with a vengence. Now hes skillfully made it into a larger issue than just him evading fees that everyone else pays.

Im extremely surprised to see larry for one, defending him. Hes been breaking the laws for two decades, but apparently all is forgiven
