Finally some updates on this,

Tested for Ohms at the crank sensor connector, I get an open circuit. Cranking the car over with it unplugged I still get an open circuit. This means to me the crank sensor is bad as some of you have suggested.

However that is strange is both terminals on the coil have around 11.7V at them with the car keyed on, when you crank the car over they both drop down to like 7V.
