I don't get physical unless I have to so I will defer to you on that but I suspect that someone you hit could get up and do some damage. Besides, it could be a career suicide move for a nobody to whack someone much higher up in the food chain. The only difference between what happened and what you suggest is that one kills his career and the other, in this case, took his life. Both stupid.
