it's on backwards???

I *think* I understand.
There is a metal plate that attaches to the transmission and to the shifter rod. It appear to be mounted "flipped over"!

If you look at this picture of the flat plate, you can see that the hole with the bushing it the highest one, and the other hole is lower and sticks out to the right.

In my first post you can just barely see that the shift rod is attached to the upper hole, BUT the lower hole is to the LEFT!

Or am I wrong again?
