Bear in mind that the Chrysler engine families of this era:

6 cyl: 170, 198 225

8 cyl " A-size" engines: 273, 318, 340, 360

8 cyl "B-size" engines: 361, 383, 400, 413, 426, 440, 508 (used only in Int's gas trucks)

The 727 B tranny housing is different from the 727 A series. Get a spare if you can

PS: 1965 is the last year Chrysler made a separate-body-on-frame car.

I have owned 318, 360, 361, 383, 400, 440. All have lots of power and for the most part are easy to maintain. Your biggest problem with the 383 may be carb parts and exhaust manifolds.
