I don't wanna hear it!! Comparing the US to Europe is an apples-to-oranges comparison. Europeans have access to superior mass transit systems. They commute, on average, much shorter distances to work. Geographically the distances travelled are much smaller. This results in far fewer miles travelled for the average European. Here in the States the opposite to all of that is true. I really wish there were more options for US travel but the car is king here. Increase in European fuel cost is less of an issue as they have alternatives and even if they choose to drive the increase in cost is not near the exponential increases we will see here. RT
