Code 42 is what happens when you disconnect the tan wire that controls the timing advice from the ECM. IT MAY BE a current issue or a history from a bit ago. You have to erase it so we can tell if it returns or not.
Good tips. I've not removed an O2 sensor in a GM product before. That would be a drag. I'm thinking some kind of solvent then a torch on the pipe.
