Hello all!

I am doing a little research for a friend who is considering buying an SL, most likely a 450. He does not have the time for a "project" only minor tinkering, but would most likely take it to a mechanic for repair.

He is looking for a nice car that he can take out on the weekend and cruise around in. I am not very familiar with MB's only a little of the CIS fuel system from tinkering with my 930.

I understand these are for the most part durable cars, but would like to know a general set of years to look at. He is leaning towards the older style SL such as the 70's and 80's style.

Also can anyone recommend a reputable and thorough mechanic to do a PPI for the Louisville,KY area?
