92 was the first year of the LT1. Give them a little time to sort it out first before buying it. Also, after a certain year, maybe 95, to reprogram it, you need to take out the ECM? Not quite sure. I know my 91 is done via removal of the EPROM. Also 90-91 becomes harder to get a scanner for and TTS Datamaster is better than others as far as usability goes. I went to Autozone and bought their top of the line scanner and could not get it to work. Tech support said it was a Vette and something was slightly different. Datamaster and TunerPro RT was tried. TunerPro took a little work and they had to rewrite the files because it was a Vette and didn't respond as well to it.
