The only thing I don't like about it is the accessory hose retracts on its own when you're using it and it pulls the vacuum across the floor toward you due to the high suction.
Ours is at least 5 years old and still works as well as the day we bought it.

A friend was doing some home improvement and needed help with cleaning after a remodel. He used his Kirby to vacuum some carpet in an adjoining room, which I went back over with the Dyson.

The SOB actually was able to pull more dirt out of the carpet. After he saw that, he became a believer and picked up one of the Dyson ball thingys.

I'll be the first to admit that they are very plasticy, and definitely feel cheap! But after using one, I'm a believer.
