Sounds kind of like the window motor I brought back to life. It was on a used regulator I bought and I only needed the regulator. I disassembled the motor and found water had intruded and caused the aft bearing to jam w/ corrosion. Loosened it up, greased, and it works fine and is on the shelf as a backup.
