i started by putting samples in the freezer. My wife really liked that.
Miles driven probably in the 100,000 range. About 50k on my present 95 E300.
Pump or injector problems none. Again not for faint of heart. There ALWAYS is a risk.
Dirt in the fuel filters has not been high and an average filter change at about 12k.
I also have a strong magnet on the side of my filter tank. This does not take of none magnetic particles.
The whole theory behind filtering is as the filter becomes clogged it filters even finer. So filter filter, filter and when done filter again.
A starting point, buy 5 gallons of new canola or veggie oil and dump it in.
