stevebfl had a post about this some time back, can't find the thread anymore. the leak at the front timing seal often involves the head gasket too because that is a juncture of three surfaces -the block, the head and the front timing chain cover. my head gasket leak manifested as an ugly gusher in front. you could be lucky and only have the problem at the cover but chances are that it's the head gasket, since it's only a matter of time with the original design...
