In post #158 you covered the kickdown solenoid. I had a quick question on how the wire attaches to the solenoid. The insulation on the wiring, for mine, has become extremely brittle and bare in places. I would like to replace the wire but was unsure of how it attaches to the solenoid. Pulling on the boot only produced another bare section in the insulation.
Great write up! I've been studying this as you've gone along, thinking this task was in my near future. Fortunately, I found a sticking kickdown switch, at the pedal, due to carpet interference. I may even buy a used transmission to rebuild and have on hand.
