Just to add, the crank position sensor fault (not working when at operating temperature) was definitely the cause of this non start when warmed up issue on my vehicle.

(W202 C250TD estate with OM606 .962 swap).

Engine would die after 20 minutes of running, and would not start at all until cold, then repeat.

ECU detects bad crank reading and does not open fuel solenoid on the side of IP.
