Hello,
Is anyone familiar with whether the rear housing from the older manual transmissions such as the 717.411 or 717.412 (W201, W124) can be directly swapped onto the later gearboxes such as the 717.460 (W202, R170)?
I am especially curious if the mechanical speedometer drive gear from the older transmission fits directly into the newer transmission, along with the rear housing, thus making it a plug-and-play fit.
