Did the driver's insurance pay for the damages? If it's like VA, we can only pay for damage, we can't hire or authorize anyone to do the repairs. We want the insured (or claimant in your case) to hire the contractors. If there is a problem, it's between the customer and the contractor, not the adjuster. I got a call at 1145 PM on SATURDAY and a second call at 1 AM (1.25 hours later) from some lady who hired her GC BEFORE I was even there. Now she's fussing at ME because she's unhappy with him. I told her to call him and tell him, not me. She picked him, she pays him. Money is power. She holds the money, she has the power. I pay her, she pays him. I understand how frustrating it is, really I do. Imagine dealing with this stuff ALL day every day, weekends included.

I had to deal with a horse that got out of the pasture and totaled a truck today. Nobody is happy on this one. Me included. Everyone is looking at me. I'm trying to pay the damage, how can you put a number on a horse/pet?

And for the record, not everyone is like you (helpful and "normal", if there is such a thing anymore). Some people are fussing at me before I can even offer a solution or write an estimate. And I write a fair estimate. I pay what I owe.
