Anyhow getting back to the OP, the answer is yes.
A few years ago I did some modifying - butcher work - to my pre-chambers.
I drove out the pin / ball in the middle and then cut off the bottom.
Results? All bad! LOL. Harder to start, lower power, more noise. But no "cool D.I. sound" just ill sounding.
Was fun to experiment with as I had an extra set off pre-chambers to play with.
