So the W123 going through, owner stated automatic transmission leaked due to a main seal; an't ask for details as not responding to texts. Does leak just sitting, and enough to run down the garage floor.
Pulled the exhaust heat shield off to find fluid only at the drain plug, part of the pan gasket, the rearward part of the torque converter housing, and most of the torque converter. Is this jive with a major seal leak?
There is no A.T.F. fluid anywhere else, though there is a thin film of engine oil on the front part and maybe the pan too, hard to tell. After putting in a replacement brake cable and its housing, you think I was working on a diesel fueled engine (it's gasoline). Will go after that another day... Just informing not simple look for red fluid.
