Good to hear you are taking a run at fixing the car.

More notes:

Take pictures / make diagrams.

Keep bolts with the parts / put in marked bags / poke holes in cardboard - draw a general outline of the part ( it does not need to be to scale just in order. )

When pulling an engine, I store parts at the rear of the car / in trunk. Parts from the left, stay on the left of the car and are in order of removal . A similar method is used when rebuilding the engine or transmission but the part are laid out on a bench.

Taking apart is easy and fun, repairing and putting back together is more difficult as the days , weeks , months wear on.

Don't take _everything_ apart at once. Assess each sub assembly during removal. RE:For example, remove the cylinder head, inspect and note general condition then set aside. Once you have roughly gone through the engine, then you can take sub assemblies apart for a more through cleaning / inspection / rebuild / box up and put on a shelf. When using this method, just about the time you are running out of ambition all you have to do is turn around and view the piles of ready to go parts rather than a pile of parts that still need cleaned / rebuilt.
