1993 300D electrical issue..? A/C dead, radio, sun roof, etc
Hey there, I purchased a 93 300D last year with 90k miles. It had a few "problems" but I needed a car and I love it.
Problems I am experiencing:
1. The A/C has never worked, hitting the buttons does nothing. No sounds or anything. I REALLY would like to figure this out. From reading this forum I became aware that low refrigerant will auto shut off the compressor to keep it from burning out. So I am hoping this is the answer. I took it to the shop today and they said there's an electrical issue and would need it for a whole day to figure it out.
2. The radio used to work, then one day it just stopped working.
3. The sunroof doesnt work but I did get it to work once awhile back.
4. My windshield wipers go off randomly! It is the most frustrating thing. IT mostly goes off when I use the turn signal (usually left I believe). It will cycle once screeching all over the glass and stop. Sometimes it will do it randomly while driving. I'm in FL so I just dont use turn signals much to combat this.
5. My battery would not charge and would die everytime I shut the car off and I would need to jump. I just installed a new alternator and thats no longer a problem.
My question is, could this all be related? What should I check? Possible fuse issue?
All the windows work, all the seat controls work, cigarette lighter works, Cruise control works, gauges and indicator lights work.
PS: I have a brand new alternator and battery.
