Axle threads seem to be kind of like oil, filter and additive threads with lots of options and no real consensus.
There is no consensus because of costs, resources, and the ability of the person doing the job and of course personal choice. Another factor is if you need to get your car back on the road ASAP and that often limits you choices.

If you get the aftermarket annular axles be sure to remove one bolt at a time and use a thread locker on the threads when you assemble. Some eople that did not do that have had the bolts come loose on the road.
