Got my 1960 190 diesel running. I replaced the injectors with Monark injectors. the Kit came with heat shields. I put them in and torqued to 60 pounds. Started up and the injector cavity of the head has diesel in it.
My question is - are the Monark steel heat shields the right part?
I read the early mercedes used copper heat shields or seals.
anyone got any ideas? Thanks Angus
