I thought you'd need to remove the cam shaft to get clearance to remove the valve spring retains, but no ? .


FWIW, I know several guys who had these seals replaced on their OM616/617 engines and the blue exhaust smoke diminished considerably so don't say it makes no difference because it does .

I'm always tying to learn and you guys here seem to know more hands - on DIY than others, THANK YOU for answering my endless questions .
