Interesting! Usually the EPC mentions something like "To be modified upon installation" if that's the case, possibly along with a part number roll (superceded). But as long as what you install matches what came out, that's all that matters!
And yes, I put in a new driver's window glass seal on my 124 and it eliminated the pesky wind noise! It's soooo quiet now.
