I've got kind of a lead foot in general, and my 300D 2.5 seems to scoot okay when asked. I mean, it's not great off the line, but I remember being pleasantly surprised at it's ability to keep up (and even overtake) regular traffic on the interstate.

I live and work on islands with no roads larger than 2-lane, so in general my absolute max speed in the best of circumstances is about 60mph. I'm also not afraid to keep the revs high, often keeping the shifter in 3rd when I want to have fun on some back roads, and even dropping down to 2nd for cornering.

It's no sports car, and my much newer BMW coupe with inline-6 feels like a rocket ship by comparison - but this old turbodiesel feels toque-ier than the specs would suggest, when the revs are high enough.
