I got a self-adhesive LED strip and put it under my deck railing for outdoor lighting. It's still up 6+ years later (Probably closer to 8) and is exposed to snow, rain, sleet, hail, sun, wind... you get the picture. You'd just need to find a strip where the adhesive is on the lit side.
