Seems I need special tool 107 589 3 31 00, which is the spring compressor for the 107 (pic attached.) Problem is this has a ridiculous price tag of approx $2,000!!! Maybe I could make one?
Otherwise I will be using my sturdy floor jack along with ropes, chains, protective shields and whatever else I think necessary for protection!
The FSM method involves supporting the vehicle at a height sufficient for about a foot clearance under the lower A-arm. Then, with the arm jacked up enough to relieve shock absorber tension, disconnect shock lower mounting, and the sway bar link. Then, mark the position of the cams of the inboard lower A-arm bolts, and remove the bolts. The inboard end of the A-arm can then be lowered enough to relax the spring, the arm can be swung forward, and the spring removed.
