Yes. Down load both apps (Lyft and Uber) on your phone. The app is GPS based. Put your destination in and it will tell you to the penny what your rate will be. You can tip in the app or using cash to the driver.

May wnt to check out this place.

We drove by at night and and I just window shopped. Sorry about the drool marks on the glass.

I was in San Fran this past summer. I would not recommend renting a car especially if you are staying in San Fran proper. We stayed at the Beresford Arms Hotel and they wanted $50 a night to park the car. I found a deal around the corner at a self park for the low low price of $30 a night. You can do a lot of Ubering for $30 a night plus less hassle. Parking in San Fran is very challenging. Street parking is hard core. Have to watch out for parking restrictions and that is assuming you can even find a spot. We spent the day at the port where Alcatraz tour boats leave and that was $40 just for the day.

There is a place called the Slanted Door (restaurant). It is at the port. The service was great. The food was very very good and the prices were reasonable for San Fran.

It's an Amazing town with lots to do and see but dam is it expensive. A week there was almost as expensive as 2 weeks in Europe. When we go again, we will stay outside of Down Town. I would expect accommodations and parking to be cheaper.

We drove from San Fran to Monterrey. The drive was beautiful. Sights like that are why many people want to live there. The ocean, the scenery.... hard to beat. The coastal right is a bit longer but well worth it in my opinion. As I recall, there is a light house along the way and if you walk down to it, the view is breath taking.

While in San Fran, if you come over the Golden Gate coming South bound into San Fran there is a turn off just before you get to the bridge. Take it. If you go at night and there is no fog or just a little bit of fog the view will leave you breathless.

I would also recommend the Muir woods National Monument. Its a red wood forest. A few bucks to get in. The walking trails are beautiful. There is a tranquility and peacefulness that is hard to describe.

And of course the sea food. If you like sea food... hee hee.... you will love it.

Have fun.
