In the picture of the tip of the Injector Nozzle you seen the blackend area. If you look cloesly you will see that the metal is actually burned away because th face of the Injector Nozzle is supposed to be flat.

If the area is burned out as in the Pic it is possible for the burned out area to prevent the heat shield from sealing.
