My sister and brother-in-law are all lawyers, and I know their starting salaries out of school were $100K+, and that was many years ago.

This article from 2014 states the starting salary should be $130K-$160K.

Depends on the field of law. Many rewarding legal careers with lots of trial time are not high paying compared to commercial law.

For example i have a relative who went from a 200k a year job to a 65k a year job in a public defenders office. The difference is now she gets to actually be a lawyer and gets to go to trial all the time. Never looked back, fun rewarding job compared to the 200k a year job with only a benefit in the high pay, and otherwise awful
