On the Google map route, grab the blue route line in Chicago and drag it up and drop it on the Mackinaw Bridge. Get on hwy 2 and take it all the way to the middle of North Dakota before heading north to Canada. Avoid 1000 miles of high speed, busy, boring, freeway.
