I would buy your 190D with cash today if you were closer. Hey, I know - meet me halfway - I'm in California! My daily driver is a 1984 190D 2.2, and I love her so much - but the injection pump started leaking, and now the fuel leaking on the rubber bushings in what I think is the control arm down below underneath the pump, are degrading. She's gone from "never broken down and reliable" to not drive-able in one month. I just am not confident I can repair the injection pump myself even though I've studied the procedure. The bushings I'd have to have a shop do. The car still runs great, but driving a car that leaks fuel? Not too wise so I must figure out what to do. Out here in California, the DMV offers $1000-$1500 to 'retire' a car if it's been registered in your name for the last two years running, and if you can drive it there - my Baby Benz meets the requirements, but I promised her I would never let that giant claw at the auto junkyard smash her to smithereens - do you think she knows? Anyway, your Baby Benz is exactly what I'm looking for - wish you were here (ahh, Pink Floyd). Good luck with your sale, I sure love your 190.
