Yes of course but then you're back to riding a plodder and I don't ride that way .

My new to me 1975 BMW R60/6 barn find Moto (! 8,000 miles yahoo !) also has a very slight oscillation of the bars if I let go of them above 40 MPH or so, I tried setting the damper on it's lowest setting and don't like it but I don't think it'll ever become a true tank slapper either so I'll just live with it, I suppose I'm not supposed to ever take my hands off the grips, right ?  .

The steering damper did not seem to impact the pleasure of riding it to me. I never thought of myself as a plodder either.
