Thanks! It is light years better. I just thought the w123 was a good driving car... Now it has much more confidence when hitting bumps, no where near the body roll, no weird popping and clunking, etc. Tracks straight and all.
I don't mind the factory fogs, I just want some extra ones for when I'm out in the woods offroading.
My goal is to eventually find a w116 in Excellent shape and keep it bone stock as a highway cruiser.
This 300d, IMO, is too far gone in some aspects to entirely restore it and make it a perfect car. One frame horn where the bumper mounts is pushed back from previous owner wrecking it, it leaks some water in the cabin from the passenger hood hinge drain/battery area. Needs an entire repaint. Vacuum leaks. A/C system is a mess, harness is cut, etc. Mechanically the car is excellent. Trans shifts great, no vibrations, very little smoke on cold start up, idles and runs miraculously smooth. Cranks on first or second revolution.
So I just like the car as a daily, that I don't have to worry about getting dinged up in a parking lot, etc. And having some fun with it.
For ~$2500 ($400 car + ~$2000 parts) I can't think of anything more fun
